The New Weekend Korean Drama ‘GLORIA’

The new weekend Korean drama ‘Gloria’ aired its first episode on July 31. The drama is directed by PD Kim Min Shik who helmed the romance Korean drama ‘The Woman Who Still Wants to Marry’ (MBC, 2010) and ‘Queen of Housewives’ (MBC, 2009) and penned by writer Jung Ji Woo who wrote the romantic-comedy Korean drama ‘Stars Falling from the Sky’ (SBS, 2010).

‘Gloria’ stars Bae Doo Na, Lee Chun Hee, Suh Ji Suk, and So Yi Hyun. The drama centers around Bae’s character named Na Jin Jin, a nightclub singer, who struggles for her life and her mentally disable older sister Na Jin Joo. She dreams to be a singer and one night she finds an opportunity when the band’s singer doesn’t show, giving her a chance to perform.

Lee plays as a talented fighter and a gangster who Jin Jin’s loyal childhood best friend named Ha Dong Ah who has a warm and pure personality. Suh portrays a character named Lee Kang Suk who is the illegimate son of an entrepreneur family. He doesn’t believe in love due to his relationship with his parents. Meanwhile, So’s character named Jung Yeon Seo is the secret daughter of a Chaebol family. She gave up ballet after suffering an injury. Both the lives of Kang Suk and Yeo Seo changes after they meets Jin Jin and Dong Ah.

‘Gloria’ broadcasts through MBC and is planned to run for 50 episodes.
