Kim Yun Jin Kim Yun Jin Cast on Suspense Korean Movie The Confrontation

Korean actress Kim Yun Jin who played in the heartwarming Korean movie ‘Harmony’ in the early year, has been cast to a new suspense Korean movie tentatively titled ‘The Confrontation’ which team her up with Korean actor Park Hae Il (‘The Moss‘, 2010), according to the movie’s distributor Lotte Entertainment.

The distributor company revealed in a press release that Kim and Park have been cast for lead roles in the movie. Kim plays a mother who has to save her daughter and a son who must protect his mother.

It will be the second movie in which Kim portrays a mother who attempts to save her daughter, since the blockbuster Korean movie ‘Seven Days’ in 2007.

“If my character in ‘Seven Days’ was a strong woman who seemed to be able to solve anything, My character named Yeon Hee in ‘Confrontation’ is a helplessly vulnerable and sensitive character.” The actress was quoted as saying. “That is why the extreme circumstances thrown to her broke my heart all the more.”

Kim grew up in Staten Island, New York, and rose to fame in 1999 by playing in Korea’s first blockbuster movie ‘Shirri’ as a North Korean Spy. In 2004, she made her international career by playing as one of the main characters in the Emmy Award-winning drama ‘Lost’, which made her as the first South Korean actress which made a breakthrough into the U.S. showbiz industry.

The Confrontation’ which started shooting last Friday, will release in theaters later this year.
